I have to say I agree in that she's an actress and her own personal views shouldn't color her judgment of her character. Plus they recasted her with the same actress who played antonio's real mom from the horrid Santi SL. Really are they only like a handful of actresses they can pick from? I don't get it. One Life To Live star Patricia Mauceri has been fired from her recurring role as Carlotta Vega due to her reservations about appearing in a gay storyline. You're an actress, sweetie. You do what you're told! Patricia objected to a small role in which her character would have a positive attitude regarding the show's relationship between Kyle (Brett Claywell) and Fish (Scott Evans) because it conflicted with her personal beliefs. Why couldn't she "act" like she was okay with it?! Saundra Santiago has taken over the role of Carlotta, a gay friendly Latina mother. Last Edited By: kaitlinK23 06/29/09 16:27:13. Edited 1 time.

Posts: 3861 06/30/09 22:34:33	Then again, maybe it was the last straw. That crap they did to the diner for Mo and Noelle was heinous. I've been waiting 15 years for Blair to get her own set. Mo and Noelle got wisked into Crem Brulee and they burned down Carlotta's diner for them and ya know what? They SUCK!!!! They didn't suck for me as bad in Paris, TX because I thought they were only temporary and I always ignore Marcie anyway. Carlotta Vega is the only Vega who has been consistently interesting and well portrayed. So... she goes like, I don't know 10 years without any story, other than to make note that RJ's daughter was a psycho because she had credit cards. Whatever... Maybe PM just got tired of jacking around with TPTB, can't blame her for that. I like PM, I've never heard a cross word about her and I don't think she has a diva bone in her body. I think it was Royal Pains on USA and she was good, but this garbage people have with gay actors, stories, and honestly just regular old people needs to end. About the only country in the world where someone being gay is still an issue is the good ole US of A. Best of luck to her and I support her right to belive what she wishes but it will be a long lonely road for her now that this story/rumor has gone mainstream. FYI - She and Tuc Watkins always seemed to work well together and he happens to be gay so I find all of this very odd. Just my two cents!

Posts: 1369 07/08/09 08:47:05 Registered User	OLTL is a very gay set right now. I believe FV is, TW definitely is (not that Carlotta and David have worked closely together in OLTL). I believe the actor portraying Fish is, and there are more. I don't believe that this actress has worked in the industry as long as she has if this is the complete story. However, I could see her objecting to making Carlotta into a fool (thinking her many-partnered son Christian is gay) or having Carlotta (staunch Catholic) into a totally supportive gay rights activist in one episode. Y and R just got a lot of buzz for having the actor portraying Adam, Chris Engen, refuse to play a story that had a male/male kiss as a plot point. Could OLTL be copying the Y and R buzz?
